Digit-al check-in

Scandinavian Airlines Sweden has given its domestic passengers with luggage finger-print check-in.

The initiative is part of EU security requirements to match passengers who check in bags with their luggage before they board the plane.

Interesting that 98% of the airline's frequent flyers support the scheme, which will be rolled out to European destinations outside Sweden if passengers embrace it.

Does anyone have any experience of the Heathrow security channel with eye-scanning? We heard anecdotally that it really speeds up the process - but, could it be because not that many people have signed up for it yet?

I like the comment about the waiting time simply being transferred from the immigration queue to the bagagge carrousel
