What do you do after Lastminute.com - DIY!

Unrelated to travel in almost every way, but today sees the launch of Brent Hoberman's new venture, MyDeco.com.

The co-founders of Lastminute.com, Hoberman and Martha Lane-Fox, have teamed up to launch the home decorating service - an slick and arty website practically dripping in so-called - ggrrrr - Web 2.0 features.

Hoberman is founder and non-executive chairman and Lane-Fox steps in as a non-exec director.

This is not an Ikea or B&Q retail offering, but a community-led site allowing DIY wannabes the chance to share tips (horizontal or vertical brush strokes on two-inch wall ply, anyone?) and use 3D models to create their perfect room.

The senior management team is pretty impressive, too.

Running the business will be David Kelly, ex-vice president of European business operations at Ebay. Former Lastminuter Paul Chudleigh is in as chief technical officer.

Incidentally, you can hear Brent talk about wider entrepreneurial issues at the Travolution Summit in April.

Maybe Brent and co offer some handy tips to the old crew?

Right, back to travel...
