Mobissimo reckons its reached Travel 3.0

We were lucky enough to have a chat with Beatrice Tarka, founder and chief executive of meta search site Mobissimo, last week.

Anyway, we got an exclusive story about the site relaunching today (or midnight, if you're in Silicon Valley).

Tarka says its Travel 3.0 - primarily because of its customisable search and content filters.

It is actually very nice. But Travel 3.0?

Take a look and report back.

Looks a lot like liligo (liligo.co.uk) to me... a mix of netvibes and travelsearch, released 3 months ago.

Let's see what travelers will think.

kayak has more and better booking functionality. Adding flexible weather and currency modules is usefull but does not make it web2.0

Speaking as someone who has added weather to our destination pages last friday.

I think it just scrapes web2.0.

What is web3.0?

Web 3.0 implies convergence of data from multiple sources and the intelligence to make decisions and recommendations based on the relationships between the data. For example, if Mobissimo knew from my Google Calendar that I was going to Berlin for ITB in March and also knew that I hadn't booked my flight or hotel and then presented me with flight and hotel options as soon as I went to the website, then that MIGHT be considered Web 3.0. If it was able to check my Facebook friend list and find me all my friends in Berlin who were going to be in town at the time, notified them and booked restaurant times for me automatically, now that WOULD BE Web 3.0. Mobissimo is AT BEST Web 2.0 because it uses some nice AJAX features for filtering.
